AAIB investigators arrive in Miri to probe Long Lellang helicopter crash
The Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) team is expected to arrive in Miri today to begin investigating the helicopter crash near Long Lellang, Sarawak. The crash site has been cordoned off, and search and rescue operations will resume. The helicopter, a BO-105 from the Flying Doctor Service, was carrying five people when it crashed.

A shopkeeper in Long Siut, Sarawak, recounted how the Flying Doctor Service helicopter crew stopped at her shop for about an hour before their fatal crash at Long Lellang STOLport. Mutiara Bunut Homestay in Loagan Bunut National Park, Sarawak, has temporarily suspended operations after the lake dried up due to a severe dry spell.
