Three arrested over break-ins of seven cars, four Singapore-registered, in Desaru
Three men aged 26 to 36 were arrested in Masai and Majidee, Johor, over a spate of car break-ins at three resorts and recreational sites in Desaru, Kota Tinggi. Seven vehicles were broken into, four of them Singapore-registered, and police seized a car, phones, remote keys, a spanner and a screwdriver. The suspects, who have criminal records and tested positive for methamphetamine, were remanded for four days.

Terengganu proposes 2-year closure of 4 Redang coral sites after 80% damage
Four snorkelling and diving sites around Pulau Redang in Terengganu have been proposed for a two-year closure to allow severely damaged coral reefs to recover. The proposal, submitted by resort operators and Reef Check Malaysia, cites over 80% coral damage at the sites, primarily due to human activities like tourists touching corals and boats dropping anchors. State tourism committee chairman Datuk Razali Idris said the proposal will be discussed with federal agencies.
