Vegetation fire at Seletar West Road extinguished by SCDF
A fire broke out at an open grass patch near a heavy vehicle park on Seletar West Road 1 on Sept 4. The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted at about 9.50am and extinguished the blaze, which involved vegetation measuring about 150m by 50m, using three water jets. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.

Police rescue two teenage girls from edge of Toa Payoh car park wall
Police in Singapore were called after two teenage girls were seen sitting on the edge of a seventh-floor car park wall in Toa Payoh. Officers persuaded both girls to safety, and they were taken to hospital and detained under the Mental Health Act.

Man, 68, Dies in Flat Fire at Lorong Lew Lian
A 68-year-old man, Abdul Rahman Ahmad, died in a fire at his flat in Lorong Lew Lian, Upper Serangoon, on September 1. Neighbors remembered him as a friendly and kind person, especially towards children. Speaker of Parliament Seah Kian Peng also expressed his condolences.
