Two drivers held over speed test at Putra Bridge for social media content
Police detained two male drivers aged 19 and 21 for performing a speed test at Jambatan Putra in Putrajaya to produce social media content. Both were remanded for a day and issued summonses for vehicle modifications, with the case investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Army officer murder case: chemical report due 13 October
The Kuala Lumpur Magistrate's Court has fixed 13 October for the chemical report in the case of Captain Jad Faid Arhan, 31, accused of killing Bangladeshi influencer Muzahid Millad, 22, in a crash on the Maju Expressway (MEX) on 23 April. The same date was set in a separate traffic court for two charges of driving under the influence that seriously injured an e-hailing driver and a woman passenger.

Woman hurt as car flips after hitting raised road fixture in Petaling Jaya
A 46-year-old woman was injured when her Honda City overturned after its left tyre struck a raised metal road fixture on Jalan Gasing-Jalan Templer in Petaling Jaya at about 7.10am. She was taken to Assunta Hospital for a leg injury. Police say the poorly maintained fixture caused the crash and are investigating under the Road Traffic Rules.

Preacher charged with keeping nude photos, porn videos on two phones
An independent preacher pleaded not guilty at the Shah Alam Magistrate's Court to two charges of possessing nude photographs and pornographic videos on two mobile phones. The alleged offence took place at the Shah Alam district police headquarters' Criminal Investigation Department on July 1 last year. Bail was set at RM5,000 with one surety and the case will be mentioned again on Oct 27.

Man fined RM2,000 for stealing 65 items from Subang Jaya supermarket
A 39-year-old man was fined RM2,000 by the Shah Alam Magistrate's Court after pleading guilty to stealing 65 items worth RM730.97 from a supermarket in Subang Jaya on 20 December last year. Mohd Aslizan Mustafa Maarof was also ordered to serve 10 days in jail if he fails to pay the fine.

Thai cook held by JPJ for driving with expired road tax
A Thai cook was detained on Jalan Genting Kelang in Kuala Lumpur for driving a Mercedes with an expired motor vehicle licence. In the same Ops Luxury sweep, a Chinese driver was held on Jalan Stonor for having no competent driving licence. Both vehicles were seized at JPJ Kuala Lumpur for investigation.

Putrajaya police arrested two male drivers aged 19 and 21 after a viral video showed them testing speeds on Putra Bridge. A Proton and a Honda were seized, one driver had no valid licence and expired road tax, and both were issued traffic summonses.

Police question 12 witnesses over RM2.91 million Ampang condo armed robbery
Police have recorded statements from 12 witnesses in the armed gang robbery at Pavilion Embassy condominium in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, where RM2.91 million in cash, jewellery and luxury watches was stolen on Sept 7. Wangsa Maju police chief ACP Annas Sulaiman said investigators are still identifying suspects and are examining possible insider involvement given the condominium's strict security. The case is being investigated under Sections 395/397 of the Penal Code.

Fire in Taman Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur kills mother and two sons
A fire at a double-storey house on Jalan Satria 7/5 in Taman Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur killed a 49-year-old woman and her two sons, aged 18 and 11. The Klang district police chief said there is no criminal element or foul play, and the bodies were sent to Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital for post-mortem. The Fire and Rescue Department is investigating the cause.

Three more charged with murder of 23-year-old at illegal gathering in Taman Alam Megah
Three more alleged gang members were charged in the Magistrate's Court in Shah Alam today with murdering a 23-year-old man during an illegal gathering last month. The charges bring the total number of people charged in the case to 11, after eight men were charged with the same offence last week. BERSIH demands Najib serve remaining jail term, rejects house arrest
BERSIH is demanding that Datuk Seri Najib Razak serve the rest of his prison sentence and is opposing any move by the Pardons Board to grant the former prime minister house arrest. Farmer, 52, shot dead outside child's rented house in Banting
A 52-year-old local farmer was shot dead in front of a rented house in Teluk Bunut, Banting, between 10.30pm and 11pm on Tuesday. Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the victim is believed to have gone to check on the house, which was rented by his child and unoccupied at the time. Police have detained a local man in his 20s to 30s and obtained a two-day remand order; the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Dang Wangi police seized 51.686kg of MDMA powder worth RM7.75 million in a raid on a condominium unit at Jalan Ceylon, Kuala Lumpur on 19 August. Five people were arrested, including two male and two female foreign nationals and one local man, and all suspects were charged in court on 2 September.

Penang City Council mayor Datuk Rajendran P Anthony will be called as a prosecution witness in the corruption trial of former Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng. Lorry driver fined RM30,000 for obscene WhatsApp messages to ex-wife's husband
A 50-year-old lorry driver was fined RM30,000 by the Sessions Court in Seremban after pleading guilty to five charges of sending obscene pictures and videos via WhatsApp to his ex-wife's current husband in March 2023. Mohd Suhaimi Yusof was also given a two-month jail term for each charge if he fails to pay the fine. He was charged under Section 233(1)(a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

Property entrepreneur wins Facebook defamation suit at Shah Alam High Court
The Shah Alam High Court ruled that property entrepreneur Datuk Mohamad Azlan Abdullah @ Ali succeeded in his defamation suit against Shahruldi Mahafiz Ramli over two Facebook posts. The court ordered the defendant to pay RM30,000 in costs, with damages to be assessed in separate proceedings.
