McDonald's Malaysia held its Piknik Famili Terbesar @ Mekdi at two East Coast locations, Pengkalan Chepa in Kelantan and Pantai Batu Buruk in Terengganu, on 5 September. The event offered free meals, traditional games, a children's fashion show and the Mekdi mascot, and introduced the new Ayam Goreng McD Rasa Ori menu.

Over 3,000 attend Maulid Akbar event at Habib Mosque in Tanjung Tokong
More than 3,000 people gathered at Masjid Habib in Tanjung Tokong, Penang, for the Maulid Akbar Bukit Bendera Berselawat programme in conjunction with Maulidur Rasul. The event, organised by Pertubuhan Ummah Malaysia (PUMA), featured preacher Habib Ali Zaenal Abidin Al Hamid and a qasidah group. Organisers had targeted 2,000 attendees but the response exceeded expectations.

The Light City's Waterfront Shoppes in Penang to Soft-Open Oct 29
The Waterfront Shoppes, the retail component of The Light City development in Penang, will soft-open on October 29, 2026. The 1.6 million sq ft mall will feature around 300 retail spaces across four levels, making it Penang's largest shopping mall. The development is a joint venture between IJM Corp Bhd and Perennial Holdings.
