Long Banyok and surrounding areas in Baram have been identified as having potential for commercial paddy production, according to Deputy Minister Datuk Martin Ben. He spoke at the closing of the AgriCOP 2026 programme, which trained 150 participants from local villages in modern agricultural techniques.

The Agricorp 2026 program in Long Banyok, Baram, aims to turn the area into a high-value agro-food hub. Some 150 participants received training on durian and banana cultivation technology, while 60 joined a banana chip processing course. Sarawak's Deputy Minister of Food Industry encouraged the community to add value to agricultural products.
