1. RTS Link Woodlands North station completed, on track for 2027 opening

   Singapore's Land Transport Authority announced the completion of the RTS Link Woodlands North station on Sept 4. The 4km cross-border link between Singapore and Malaysia is on track to begin operations in 2027, with a projected daily ridership of 40,000.

2. SMRT inspects all tunnel doors after metal fell on track in 2025

   SMRT has completed inspections of all cross-passage doors in its tunnels after a metal layer fell onto the track between Expo and Changi Airport stations in September 2025. The Transport Safety Investigation Bureau's report found the cladding was not secured properly and SMRT was unaware of wind load requirements. SMRT is working with the LTA on renewal works for the doors.

3. Sungai Johor Bridge safe to use, drifting ship removed

   The Sungai Johor Bridge in Telok Sengat, Kota Tinggi, has been declared safe for use after a drifting vessel that struck the bridge was fully removed. The highway operator SDEB confirmed the structure is safe and all lanes are open to traffic.

4. Singapore adds S$112m for built environment R&D, unveils site supervision rules
