Two crocodile warning signs installed at Sandakan's Pasir Putih beach
Two warning signs about crocodile danger have been installed at both ends of Pasir Putih beach in Sandakan, Sabah, following repeated reports of crocodile sightings in the waters near the fish cages. The move was initiated by Karamunting assemblyman Alex TK Wong after advice from the Sabah Wildlife Department, and residents are urged to be cautious, especially in the early morning, late afternoon and at night.

Marine police seize RM2.08m diesel, arrest two in Sandakan jetty raid
Marine police in Sandakan detained two men aged 25 and 28 during a raid at a jetty on Wednesday, catching them transferring subsidised diesel from a steel cargo vessel into a tanker lorry. Police seized the vessel, the lorry, about 28,000 litres of diesel and related equipment worth an estimated RM2,082,760. The case is being investigated under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961.

Karamunting cable theft cuts Internet, phone lines
A suspected cable theft in Karamunting, Sandakan, left residents near a block of flats in Batu Sapi without telecommunications and Internet services. Karamunting assemblyman Alex Wong Tshun Khee said he had contacted the telco and alerted police, and urged residents to report such incidents immediately.

Worker in Sandakan loses four fingers in fish grinding machine
A 26-year-old fish processing worker lost four fingers on his right hand after they got caught in a grinding machine at a factory in Batu 3, Sandakan. Firefighters used special equipment to free the man before he was taken to Duchess of Kent Hospital for treatment.
