Bintangor lime growers get fertiliser aid and grants from government
Bintangor lime growers in Sarawak received fertiliser assistance from the government to help raise crop productivity and ease their financial burden. Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing presented the aid and also gave a RM1,500 grant to the Meradong District Agriculture Club plus RM3,000 for its activities during the Meradong Festival 2026.

Meradong assemblyman urges strategy to strengthen Bintangor lime industry
Meradong state assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing called for strategies to strengthen the Bintangor lime industry in Sarawak. He spoke at a fertiliser handover ceremony for lime growers at the Meradong District Agriculture Office in Bintangor today. He also proposed building a bridge linking Bintangor to Sungai Nyamok as an alternative route.

Aaron: Unity needs understanding, not just tolerance
National Unity Minister Aaron Ago Dagang said unity in a plural society cannot rely on tolerance alone, but must be built through understanding, respect and cooperation. He said this while officiating the Malaysia Pastoral Convention 2026 at a hotel in Sibu today. The convention runs from 9 to 13 September and brings together about 850 Catholics from nine dioceses.

Residents raised concerns about weak mobile signals, sagging electrical cables, road visibility issues, and potholes. The team will compile the feedback and forward it to the relevant authorities.
