   In Bukit Mertajam, RM100,000 was raised to cover the cancer treatment costs of the wife of visually impaired street musician Robert Maidin. Bukit Mertajam MP Steven Sim said over RM46,000 came from a mini concert at Jit Sin Independent High School, with the rest topped up by him.
