Man charged with breaking girlfriend's arm with stick in Batu Berendam
A 32-year-old man was charged at the Ayer Keroh Sessions Court for hitting his girlfriend with a wooden stick, breaking her arm, at the Jelutong Indian Cemetery in Batu Berendam on August 22. He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail of RM8,000. The case is set for mention on October 6.

Unemployed man jailed four months for extorting woman by Melaka River
An unemployed 33-year-old man was sentenced to four months in prison by the Ayer Keroh Magistrate's Court in Melaka after pleading guilty to extorting a woman by the Melaka River, Kampung Morten, on September 1. The accused, Muhhamad Nazirul Jasmi, had demanded RM200 from the victim, Nahzatul Farahin Abdul Gharapar, 36, in return for her lost mobile phone.

Rampage in hostel, Tunas Bakti resident admits to damaging property
An 18-year-old resident of Sekolah Tunas Bakti Sungai Lereh pleaded guilty to a charge of mischief for damaging property at the school's hostel in Ayer Keroh. The Magistrate's Court ordered her to be sent to Hospital Permai in Tampoi, Johor Bahru for psychiatric evaluation before sentencing.
