UMNO president Zahid Hamidi winds up PAU 2026 debate at WTCKL
UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi delivered the winding-up speech at the party's 2026 general assembly at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur today. Puteri UMNO chief Datuk Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi said the speech gave delegates fresh spirit, sending them home with commitment and hope. She expressed hope that UMNO and Barisan Nasional would keep receiving public support ahead of coming state and general elections.

50 undocumented migrants deported to Indonesia via KLIA
A total of 50 undocumented migrants held at the Semenyih Detention Depot were deported to Indonesia on two flights from KLIA yesterday. Their airfare was funded by the Indonesian government, with 16 detainees flying to Jakarta and the rest to Medan.

MAIS brings Bidayuh customs to diaspora in Peninsular Malaysia
The Sarawak Native Customs Council (MAIS) held an outreach programme to bring the Bidayuh Adat 1994 closer to Bidayuh communities outside Sarawak. The event at Hotel Melia on Saturday (Sept 12) was co-organised with the Klang Valley branch of the Dayak Bidayuh National Association and drew 50 participants. MAIS chief Datuk Dr Neilson Ilan Mersat said feedback gathered will help ongoing codification and review of the customs.

Parliament Open Day 2026 targets over 10,000 visitors a day
The Malaysia Parliament Open Day 2026 at the Parliament Complex in Kuala Lumpur is expected to draw more than 10,000 visitors, with people arriving as early as 7.30am. Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul said the response has been very encouraging and the two-day programme aims to bring Parliament closer to the people.

Parliament Open Day 2026 draws over 10,000 visitors, exposes youth to democracy
The Malaysian Parliament Open Day 2026 on 12 and 13 September in Kuala Lumpur served as a platform to bring youth closer to democratic institutions, said Bentong MP Young Syefura Othman. The two-day programme featured about 40 exhibitions by government and private agencies, plus activities such as robotics displays, VR, e-sports, futsal and a blood donation drive, targeting over 10,000 visitors.

Akmal also announced plans for a special team to help women left without support when husbands fail to pay maintenance.

Kedah Immigration deports, blacklists 140 undocumented migrants
Kedah's Immigration Department sent home 140 undocumented migrants held at the Belantik Immigration Depot in Sik, flying them out via KLIA yesterday. The group of Myanmar, Bangladeshi, Indian, Pakistani, Indonesian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodian and Kenyan nationals was also blacklisted from re-entering the country.
