Thai man found drowned in Sungai Golok near Rantau Panjang
A 23-year-old Thai man, Faiz Hasan, was found drowned in Sungai Golok along the Malaysia-Thailand border near Kampung Pengkalan Pasir and Abe Yie in Rantau Panjang, Pasir Mas. He was recovered by Thai authorities at 7.10pm after a search and rescue operation that began the previous morning, and the body was handed to Thai authorities.

Porsche Cayman destroyed by fire at Lanchang toll plaza exit ramp
A Porsche sports car, believed to be a Cayman, was completely destroyed by fire at the Lanchang toll plaza exit ramp in Temerloh today. The driver escaped unhurt. Firefighters from the Mentakab station put out the flames and the cause is still unknown.

Lorry driver charged with killing four in LPT crash, hearing held at Temerloh hospital
A lorry driver, Zulkarnain Md Noh, 52, was charged with killing four people in a crash involving 11 vehicles at KM110.3 of the East Coast Expressway on Aug 31. The charge was read at Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Temerloh, where no plea was recorded. The court set Nov 12 for mention.

Civil servant held over secret recording of man in supermarket toilet in Bandar Jengka
A 39-year-old civil servant was arrested in Bandar Jengka, Maran, on suspicion of secretly recording video and taking photos of a 22-year-old man inside a supermarket toilet. He was picked up near the supermarket and remanded for three days under Sections 509 and 292 of the Penal Code.

UiTM Jengka endurance challenge: eight of nine hospitalised students discharged, one still warded
Eight of the nine Universiti Teknologi Mara students hospitalised after the Komander Kesatria Endurance Challenge at UiTM Jengka on Sept 4 have been discharged, while one remains under observation at Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh. One participant, 21-year-old Fadhlan Fakhry Solana Mohd Fellimal, died in the ICU on Sept 5. The annual event drew 521 participants from UiTM campuses nationwide except Sarawak.

Temerloh crash: girl, 9, dies after being thrown into oncoming lane; father suffers heart attack
A nine-year-old girl was killed when the motorcycle she was riding on with her father was hit by a vehicle on Jalan Temerloh-Mentakab in Temerloh, Pahang, throwing her into the opposite lane where another vehicle struck her. Her 55-year-old father survived with light injuries but suffered a heart attack after witnessing her death and was admitted to Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah. Radzi Jidin wants a national plan on stray dogs, starting in Putrajaya
Putrajaya MP Radzi Jidin has urged the government to draw up an integrated action plan to rid Malaysia of stray dogs, beginning with the administrative capital as a model stray-free city. A 74-year-old man with dementia has been reported missing after he is believed to have left his home in Kampung Kuala Pertang, Kuala Krai, Kelantan, yesterday evening. Villagers began a search and rescue operation last night, and it resumed this morning with help from security forces. Ceiling fire at Hospital Jengka paediatric ward, 21 patients moved
A fire broke out in the ceiling of the paediatric ward at Hospital Jengka around 7pm, forcing 21 patients including 11 children to be moved. Ten female patients and three children were sent to Hospital Jerantut while eight children went to Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Temerloh. A nine-year-old girl died after being thrown into oncoming traffic and hit by a vehicle when the motorcycle her father was riding skidded at Kilometre 2 of Jalan Temerloh-Mentakab in Temerloh yesterday. Her father suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Red Zone of Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah after a suspected heart attack, while the 21-year-old driver was unhurt. Police said the rider had no driving licence and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Fire in Jengka Hospital ward ceilings, 17 escape unhurt
A fire broke out in the ceiling space of the paediatric and women's wards at Jengka Hospital in Maran, Pahang, on Tuesday night. All 17 people in the wards escaped safely and the fire was extinguished by the Pahang Fire and Rescue Department in about 20 minutes. The cause and losses are still under investigation.
