UMNO Kangar wants coalition talks formalised
Kangar UMNO chief Datuk Dr Fathul Bari Mat Jahya demanded that negotiations between UMNO/BN and other parties be formalised and 'agreed' to prevent betrayal. He said this while debating the UMNO President's policy speech at the UMNO General Assembly 2026 at the World Trade Centre (WTC), Kuala Lumpur. Ahmad Zahid in his speech questioned the change of the coalition government's name from Kerajaan Perpaduan to Kerajaan Madani.

Zahid calls for immediate GE16, takes aim at Anwar at UMNO assembly
UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi told the party's 2026 general assembly in Kuala Lumpur on Friday that GE16 should be held immediately and is the decisive moment for UMNO to reclaim the mandate to lead. Zahid proposes 'Grand Collaboration' between coalitions at Umno assembly

He said the concept is not a merger, rests on three principles, and draws on the Treaty of Hudaibiyah, while stressing Umno keeps its own identity in any cooperation.

Akmal: PH forced Umno to weigh PAS cooperation
