1. KESAS highway crash: van slams into trailer lorry, 9 injured including child

   A van crashed into the back of a trailer lorry near a petrol station on the KESAS highway in Kuala Lumpur, injuring nine people including a child. The driver was trapped and had to be freed by firefighters from the Bukit Jalil station. The injured were sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital and University Malaya Medical Centre.

2. Immigration Dept launches internal probe into fatal KL crash that killed three

   The Immigration Department is conducting an internal investigation into its vehicle safety and SOPs following a fatal crash on Jalan Sultan Ismail in Kuala Lumpur on Aug 19. The department's director-general said action will be taken if violations are found. Separately, five of 11 immigrants who escaped from the Tanah Merah depot have been recaptured.
