Samsung Singapore holds first Galaxy Walkathon at The Kallang with over 610 participants
Samsung Electronics Singapore held its first Galaxy Walkathon on Sept 13 at The Kallang, drawing more than 610 participants. The 5km walk supported the Singapore Heart Foundation's heart health movement and celebrated SG61, with participants clocking 6.1 million steps. Samsung will donate to the foundation and the event is part of a multi-year partnership with The Kallang Group to promote active living through technology.

Kampong Gelam Festival held for the first time on 12-13 September
The Kampong Gelam Festival (KGF) was held for the first time on 12 and 13 September in Singapore's Kampong Gelam district, organised by the Malay Heritage Centre with local stakeholders. Themed 'Through the Eras', the two-day festival featured traditional Malay percussion performances, Nusantara heritage booths, workshops and traditional games for children.

Resorts World Sentosa has brought back its Festival Of Thrills, running until Nov 1 across the resort. Highlights include the 14th edition of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Singapore on selected nights from 25 Sep to 1 Nov, a Minions live show, the Into The Glowcean experience at Singapore Oceanarium, and motorsport-themed activities at Weave.

110 join 5km family walk at East Coast Park for Singapore's 61st National Day
About 110 people took part in a 5km family walk at East Coast Park on August 9 to mark Singapore's 61st National Day. The event was organised by the Ngee Ann Polytechnic Alumni Association, PSA Crescent Student Association and the Walk2Meet walking group. Breakfast and commemorative caps were given to participants at the end.

McDonald's holds Piknik Famili Terbesar at Pengkalan Chepa and Pantai Batu Buruk
McDonald's Malaysia held its Piknik Famili Terbesar @ Mekdi at two East Coast locations, Pengkalan Chepa in Kelantan and Pantai Batu Buruk in Terengganu, on 5 September. The event offered free meals, traditional games, a children's fashion show and the Mekdi mascot, and introduced the new Ayam Goreng McD Rasa Ori menu.

Kavimalai's Beach Road Poetry Walk held at East Coast Park
Kavimalai's 'Beach Road Poetry Walk' took place at East Coast Park in Singapore last Saturday (Sept 5) from 5pm to 9pm. About 55 people, including members of the public, poets, writers and junior college students, joined the event, which began with a 5km walk before open-air poetry readings and discussion.
