Forest fire scorches 2.42 hectares at FRIM Bidor, crews resume operation
A forest fire broke out at the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM) in Bidor, Perak, yesterday evening, scorching about 2.42 hectares. Firefighters from the Bidor station brought the blaze under control, with only 15 per cent of the area still burning when operations paused at midnight for safety. The operation resumed this morning.

Environmental group Kuasa has raised concerns over alleged river pollution in Kampung Sitiawan, Manjung, after dead fish and crabs were found. The group suspects a glove manufacturer may be responsible, and the Department of Environment has begun an investigation.
