Man held over illegal lottery sales at Roban rest hut
A 46-year-old man was arrested at a rest hut by the Saratok riverbank in Roban, Sarawak, on suspicion of selling illegal lottery numbers. Police seized a slip of paper with lottery numbers, cash and a pen. The case is being investigated under Section 4A(a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.

Taiwanese, Chinese tourists fined RM14,300 each for taking plants from Santubong National Park
A Sessions Court in Kuching fined a Taiwanese man and a Chinese man RM14,300 each for taking and attempting to remove wild plants from Santubong National Park without permission. The two men pleaded guilty to three charges, including possession of a protected orchid species.

Kuching South council to sue illegal dumpers using public photos, videos
The Kuching South City Council (MBKS) will take legal action against individuals caught on camera illegally dumping waste. Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said the council has received photos and videos from the public, including vehicle plate numbers, and will use them to prosecute offenders. The council also plans to increase CCTV surveillance in residential areas and add more rubbish bins in public spots.
