   In Johor Bahru, former Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi claimed Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi wants the 16th general election held soon because he is eager to become prime minister. He said Umno believes it is at peak strength and can form a government on its own, and alleged there was a difference of views between Zahid and deputy president Mohamad Hasan at the 2026 party assembly.

The Malaysia Productivity Corporation said the projects could yield RM81.9 million in annual savings through simplified procedures and technology including AI.
