Akmal: UMNO Youth reps who underperform will not be renominated
UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh said elected representatives from the wing who underperform, put personal interests first or are hard to reach will not be renominated in the next general election. Speaking at the UMNO Youth General Assembly 2026 at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur, he also announced the wing will adopt the five-year-old child of the late Maran UMNO Youth division chief Mohd Radzi Rahimi, with RM36,000 placed in an SSPN account.

Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, today granted an audience to Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir at Istana Negara. His Majesty also granted an audience to Public Service Commission chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Jailani Muhamed Yunus. High Court judge Alice Loke Yee Ching is expected to be elevated to the Court of Appeal on Thursday, while Judicial Commissioner Elaine Yap Chin Gaik is expected to be confirmed as a High Court judge. The oath-taking and presentation of instruments of appointment are expected to take place at Istana Negara before Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar. Mother of former senator Ras Adiba Radzi dies in Petaling Jaya
Siti Sariah Abu, the 81-year-old mother of former senator and Bernama chairman Ras Adiba Radzi, died at her home in Section 16, Petaling Jaya.
