Repeat drug offender gets five years' jail, two strokes of the cane in Kuching
A 43-year-old man was sentenced to five years' imprisonment and two strokes of the cane by the Sessions Court in Kuching after pleading guilty to repeat drug offences. Mohamad Sahmin Sulong tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine in May. He was also ordered to undergo two years of police supervision after his sentence.

Five charged with trafficking 42kg meth in Kuching acquitted
The High Court in Kuching discharged and acquitted five individuals charged with trafficking 42.2kg of methamphetamine. The judge ruled that the prosecution had failed to establish a prima facie case against them.
