Sim Kui Hian: chefs representing Kuching must protect UNESCO image
In Kuching, Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian reminded chefs and culinary teams representing the city abroad to protect Kuching's image as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. He said cleanliness, food safety, professionalism and behaviour shape how the city is seen overseas. The charity dinner at the Grand Riverine Ballroom raised RM16,000 and saw an MoU for a halal Sarawak cuisine recipe book plus a Lifetime Achievement Award.

PPWS fun walk promotes batik, healthy living and charity in Kuching
The Sarawak Women's Association (PPWS) will hold its Batik Pelikat Fun Walk 2026 on October 3 at Pangkalan Sapi in Kuching, expecting about 450 participants. The event promotes a healthy lifestyle and cultural heritage while also raising funds for the association's Care and Share welfare fund.
