High Court to decide Sept 14 on teen charged with murdering schoolmate in Bandar Utama
The Shah Alam High Court has set Sept 14 to deliver its decision in the case of a 15-year-old boy charged with murdering his 16-year-old schoolmate in Bandar Utama last year. The defence has urged the court to acquit the boy but order his detention in a hospital for treatment of a mental illness, while the prosecution argues he was sane and planned the killing.

Appeals court cuts Puchong businessman's jail term for assaulting wife to 5 years
The High Court in Shah Alam reduced a businessman's 16-year jail sentence for assaulting his wife to five years, calling the original term 'extremely excessive'. The court also set aside the caning, ruling that the relevant penal code sections do not provide for it. The assault took place at the couple's home in Puchong four years ago.
