Mekdi National Takraw League 2026 opens in October across three cities
The Mekdi National Takraw League 2026 will open competition in Seremban, Sungai Petani and Gong Badak from October, with the final in Kuala Lumpur in November. Gajah Emas Industries managing director Kevin Lim welcomed the under-16 league as a platform for grassroots sepak takraw development. The league, organised by McDonald's Malaysia and Harian Metro, is backed by the Youth and Sports Ministry and the Malaysian Sepaktakraw Federation.

Organised by McDonald's Malaysia and Harian Metro, the league was launched at McDonald's Pantai Sentral Park by Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari.
