The director of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department at Bukit Aman, Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin, said any information or confusion, including about Rohingya settlements, should be reported to the police. He spoke at a media conference after a passing-out parade at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan in Bachok.

Paralysed Kelantan worker sells pickled fruit to rebuild income with Perkeso aid
A 40-year-old electrical worker in Tumpat, Kelantan, who was paralysed for almost a year, is walking again with a stick and selling pickled fruits and locong at wet markets to support his family. He says Perkeso's Permanent Disablement Benefit and rehabilitation at the Tun Abdul Razak Rehabilitation Centre in Melaka have carried him since the August 2023 incident, and a Kelantan Perkeso officer says he is now fully independent.

Two women die of electric shock at Besut fish pond, TNB denies its equipment involved
Two women aged 49 and 27 were found unconscious at a fish-rearing pond in Pantai Air Tawar, Kuala Besut, Terengganu, yesterday and confirmed dead, believed to be from electric shock. TNB said its equipment was not involved and will cooperate with authorities in the investigation.

JANM adopts SK Belimbing as MADANI 2026 adopted school
The National Accountant's Department (JANM) has adopted Sekolah Kebangsaan Belimbing in Tanah Merah, Kelantan under the Sekolah Angkat MADANI 2026 programme. JANM provided 22 Android Smart TVs and eight air-conditioners, installed in stages from 13 June. The programme involves cooperation between JANM, the Kelantan State Education Department, the Tanah Merah District Education Office, the school and its parent-teacher association.

Two lorries collide at Sungai Sok, Kuala Krai; one dead, two hurt
A crash involving two lorries at Sungai Sok in Kuala Krai, Kelantan today killed a 29-year-old man and injured two others. The Kuala Krai fire station chief said the call came in at 2.02pm and the team reached the scene 27 minutes later. All three men were trapped in the lorry before being taken to Kuala Krai Hospital.

Two women electrocuted at Besut fish pond, UiTM trainee among dead
A 27-year-old UiTM student undergoing practical training and her 49-year-old employer were found unconscious and later pronounced dead at a fish pond in Pantai Air Tawar, Besut. The husband of the student discovered the two women lying on top of each other when he arrived to pick her up for lunch. Police have classified the case as a sudden death report.

18 motorcycles seized, four held in Ipoh street gang operation
Police in Ipoh, Perak, conducted an integrated operation against street gangs at Jalan Pasir Puteh near Station 18 early this morning. Captain Zainol Afiq laid to rest in Senawang
The body of pilot Captain Zainol Afiq Bee Sham, 30, was buried at the Senawang Islamic Cemetery in Forest Heights, Seremban, at about 6pm. He was one of five killed when an Air Doctor Service (FDS) helicopter crashed and burned near Long Lellang Airport in Sarawak last Tuesday. The bodies of four other health workers were sent to Kota Bharu, Miri and Kuching for burial.

30 inmates at Machang Rehabilitation Centre join tahfiz programme
Thirty inmates at the Machang Rehabilitation Centre in Kelantan are enrolled in a structured tahfiz programme, with two having completed memorising all 30 juzuk of the Quran. The centre's director said Sekolah Tahfiz Al-Quran Al-Furqan, set up in 2023 with MAIK, is the first organised tahfiz school inside a prison in the country, and two more inmates are expected to finish by year-end.

Muhammad Airell Amsyar Anuar, 19, from Kampung Banggol Pak Esah in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, has been making wayang kulit puppets since he was 15 and now receives orders from across the country. His puppets sell for between RM150 and RM700, with each piece taking two days to a week to complete depending on the design.

Muhammad Qayyim Nizar Sarimi, 28, who has been blind since birth, completed his Bachelor of Tahfiz al-Quran (Management) degree at Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Sultan Ismail Petra (KIAS) in Nilam Puri. The 2023 International Quran Recitation champion received his scroll at KIAS's 26th convocation ceremony at Dewan Johor, KIAS.
