F1 Bahrain GP preparations at Sepang 80 pct complete, says minister
Preparations for the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang International Circuit are 80 per cent complete, Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari said in Putrajaya. Upgrading works at SIC began on Sept 7 and 500 volunteers have been identified for training. Malaysia will host the race from Oct 2-4, bringing F1 back after nine years.

Kedah Immigration deports, blacklists 140 undocumented migrants
Kedah's Immigration Department sent home 140 undocumented migrants held at the Belantik Immigration Depot in Sik, flying them out via KLIA yesterday. The group of Myanmar, Bangladeshi, Indian, Pakistani, Indonesian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodian and Kenyan nationals was also blacklisted from re-entering the country.

High Court judge Alice Loke Yee Ching is expected to be elevated to the Court of Appeal on Thursday, while Judicial Commissioner Elaine Yap Chin Gaik is expected to be confirmed as a High Court judge. The oath-taking and presentation of instruments of appointment are expected to take place at Istana Negara before Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar. Siti Sariah Abu, the 81-year-old mother of former senator and Bernama chairman Ras Adiba Radzi, died at her home in Section 16, Petaling Jaya.
