Five killed in Miri flying doctor helicopter crash; 12-year-old son still waits for mother
A helicopter carrying a Health Ministry flying doctor team crashed while trying to land at Long Lellang short take-off and landing airport in Sarawak's northern interior on the afternoon of the 8th, killing all five on board. The dead include a pilot, a doctor, a medical assistant and two nurses; the mother of nurse Deborah Mors said in Miri that her grandson refuses to believe his mother is gone and keeps waiting for her to come back.

Miri Hospital staff gathered on Sunday to bid farewell to three colleagues killed in the Flying Doctor Service helicopter crash in Long Lellang, Sarawak. Long Lellang crash victims' remains released from Miri Hospital for burial
The remains of Captain Zainol Afiq Bee Sham and Dr Ainul Baraah Kamaruddin, two of five victims of the Long Lellang helicopter crash, were released from Miri Hospital mortuary on Sunday morning. After funeral prayers at Jamal Addin Mosque in Taman Jelita, Miri, the bodies were taken to Miri Airport to be flown to Kota Bharu and Kuala Lumpur. Remains of three other victims are also being released, with burials expected in Lambir on Monday.

Yii: RM19m spent on Pujut roads, drainage and lights since 2022
Miri mayor and Pujut assemblyman Adam Yii said about RM9.21 million went to resurfacing or upgrading 75 roads and over RM10.14 million to 97 drainage projects in Pujut between 2022 and 2025. RM422,500 for senior citizen and PwD programmes in Sarawak
The federal government has allocated RM422,500 for senior citizen and persons with disabilities (PwD) programmes and training in Sarawak. The announcement was made at the launch of the Ritma Kehidupan Harmoni (RHYTHM) Programme and Miri Division PwD Therapy Programme at PIBAKIS Miri Hall. Nationwide, the RHYTHM programme targets 6,500 beneficiaries with a total allocation of RM5 million.
