Wildlife Dept catches 18ft crocodile in Sungai Kampung Banting, Sipitang
The Wildlife Department caught an 18-foot male crocodile in Sungai Kampung Banting, Sipitang, at 5pm on Monday using a baited line. Villagers believe it is the same crocodile that nearly attacked a fisherman last month, and a second line was snapped by what may be an even larger crocodile. The village committee chairman has advised villagers and anglers to stay away from the river.

Teen motorcyclist dies after crashing into road barrier in Beaufort
A teenage boy died on Sunday night after his motorcycle crashed into a road barrier along Jalan Kampung Betanduk towards Kota Klias in Beaufort, Sabah. Police received a report at 8.14pm and confirmed the victim died at the scene. In separate incidents, police detained a man for drug possession in Kampung Nukahan and a woman for illegal gambling in Papar.

Two houses destroyed in fire at Kampung Ranau-Ranau, Sipitang
Two houses were destroyed in a fire at Kampung Ranau-Ranau in Sipitang, Sabah, on Sunday evening. No injuries were reported. Firefighters from the Sipitang station brought the blaze under control within about 43 minutes of the emergency call.

18-foot crocodile caught in Sipitang river after threatening fishermen
An 18-foot male crocodile was captured by the Sabah Wildlife Department in Sungai Kg Banting, Sipitang, on Saturday evening. The reptile, which had nearly attacked a fisherman last month, died during the capture and will be buried near the village.
