14 trapped by flash flood in Sungai Pertak rescued by firemen
Fourteen people, including a child, were trapped in the middle of Sungai Pertak in Kuala Kubu Bharu after a flash flood yesterday. Fire and rescue personnel from Kuala Kubu Bharu, assisted by the Batang Kali volunteer fire squad, used a river crossing technique to bring all victims safely to the riverbank.

Flash flood traps 14 in Sungai Pertak river, all rescued by firemen
A flash flood at Sungai Pertak in Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor, left 13 adults and one child stranded in the middle of the river at about 5.03pm. Fire and rescue personnel used ropes across the river to bring all 14 safely to the bank.

Two 17-year-old boys were trapped across Sungai Bill in Slim River, Tanjung Malim, after a flash flood around 5.03pm. Fire and Rescue Department personnel from Perak located them and guided them out through a forest path before handing them to police.

Motorcyclist killed after being run over by lorry on Batang Kali-Ulu Yam road
A 60-year-old motorcyclist died after being run over by a lorry on Jalan Batang Kali-Ulu Yam in Hulu Selangor at about 7pm. The victim is believed to have swerved to avoid a pedestrian crossing the road before losing control and falling. Police are investigating under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Five injured, including baby, in two-car crash on North-South Expressway near Ulu Bernam
A family of five, including a two-month-old baby, were injured in a two-car crash on the North-South Expressway near Ulu Bernam early yesterday. The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department said the crash involved a Toyota Camry and a Mazda CX-5, and two people from the Camry fled the scene.
