Federal government agrees to raise Sabah, Sarawak parliamentary seats
The MTPMA63 meeting in Kota Kinabalu decided that the ratio of Sabah and Sarawak parliamentary seats will be increased from the current position. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said a constitutional amendment is needed and the mechanism and final ratio have yet to be detailed. Sabah currently has 25 seats and Sarawak 31, making 56 of the 222 Dewan Rakyat seats.

PGBM Sabah proposes biography of Tun Musa
The Malaysian Headteachers' Association (PGBM) Sabah Branch has proposed publishing a biographical book on Sabah Head of State Tun Musa Aman, aimed at school pupils. The proposal was discussed during a courtesy call at Istana Seri Kinabalu on Thursday, which also covered education in Sabah. Army and MIC Sabah delegations also made courtesy calls on the same day.

Fadhlina: MA63 commitment to Sabah, Sarawak must not be seasonal

She said education issues raised by both states, including teacher recruitment and dilapidated schools, have been resolved together. Sabah-level Malaysia Day celebration moved to SICC due to haze
The Sabah-level Malaysia Day celebration on Sept 16 has been moved to the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) in Kota Kinabalu because of haze. State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Jafry Ariffin said the change was agreed by the State Cabinet to ensure the event proceeds, and it will start at 8pm simultaneously with the national celebration in Kuching, Sarawak.

Tomorrow he is scheduled to chair the 2026 Malaysia Agreement 1963 Implementation Action Council (MTPMA63) meeting at the Sabah International Convention Centre, focusing on MA63 implementation and the interests of Sabah and Sarawak. The visit also includes Friday prayers at Masjid Jamek Kampung Likas and a stop at the temporary relief centre for Kampung Numbak fire victims at Dewan Serbaguna Damai.
