Six arrested in Malaysia over drug syndicate tied to co-pilot's Jakarta arrest
Police arrested six local men between Aug 20 and 28 for suspected involvement in an international drug trafficking syndicate linked to a Malaysian co-pilot arrested in Jakarta. Four of the suspects had fled to Thailand and Vietnam but were arrested upon their return at Kuah jetty, Langkawi, and Penang International Airport. All six are detained under the Dangerous Drugs (Special Preventive Measures) Act 1985.

12-year-old boy killed in Gurun crash involving motorcycle, two lorries
A 12-year-old boy was killed in an accident involving a motorcycle and two lorries at Masjid Batu 3, Jalan Jeniang, Gurun, Kedah. The Kedah Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call at 1.36pm and dispatched firefighters from the Guar Chempedak station. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical officer.

Four arrested for allegedly robbing foreigners in Kodiang
Four men were arrested in connection with armed gang robberies targeting homes of foreigners in Kodiang, Kedah. The arrests followed a report by a Myanmar national whose house was broken into and who was assaulted and robbed. Police seized several items and the suspects are remanded until September 3.
