Five teens in Kuching admit gang robbery, sent to Henry Gurney School
The Sessions Court in Kuching on Monday ordered five male teenagers to be placed at Henry Gurney School in Puncak Borneo after they pleaded guilty to gang robbery. The robbery took place at a convenience store along Jalan Tun Jugah at about 4am on June 1, where a 19-year-old worker was threatened with a machete and wooden sticks and about RM1,000 in cash and cigarettes were taken. Two 18-year-olds will be held until they turn 21, while the three younger accused, aged 14 and 15, were each ordered to spend three years at the juvenile rehabilitation facility.

Sarawak police chief tells journalists to approach OCPDs for case details
Sarawak Commissioner of Police Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said journalists in the state may contact district police chiefs to get information or clarification on police cases. Speaking at a dinner with media practitioners at a restaurant near Jalan Simpang Tiga in Kuching, he said he has given OCPDs his full support to cooperate with the press.

A total of 92 individuals were screened, with those held suspected of various immigration offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63. All detainees were taken for further action.

Kuching retail outlet fire put out after 11 hours
A fire at a retail chain near Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce in Kuching was fully extinguished at 2.54pm today after burning for about 11 hours. A 38-year-old man was found drowned after jumping into Sungai Perak at Batu 18, Kampung Kuchai, Bota Kiri near Parit, yesterday. His body was found floating about four kilometres from where he jumped at 2pm, after a search operation by 30 personnel from the Perak Fire and Rescue Department.

Sarawak woman missing a month after leaving for Taiwan
A 41-year-old woman from Sarawak has been reported missing after her family lost contact with her following her departure for Taiwan in early August. The Padawan district police chief said the missing-person report for Azrimah Raimin was lodged at Batu Kawa police station on 9 September, and the public is asked to pass information to the police.

Post-mortem on five helicopter crash victims in Ulu Baram completed
The post-mortem on five victims of a BO-105 helicopter crash near Long Lellang STOLport in Ulu Baram, Sarawak, has been completed at Miri Hospital's Forensic Department. All five died from severe burns. The bodies have not been released to families pending DNA test results.

A 74-year-old man in Kuching, Sarawak lost RM220,000 after falling for a non-existent stock investment advertised on Facebook. The victim made eight online transfers to four different bank accounts before realising he had been cheated when he could not withdraw the profits shown. Kuching court fines caregiver RM5,000 for injuring autistic girl
A 51-year-old woman was fined RM5,000 by the Sessions Court in Kuching for abusing a five-year-old autistic girl under her care. The offence occurred at a rehabilitation centre in Kuching in May 2025, and the court also ordered her to serve 100 hours of community service and be of good behaviour for three years.
