Armizan: Sabah-Federal cooperation vital to fix infrastructure in Papar
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said stronger cooperation between the Sabah and Federal governments is needed to address infrastructure problems, especially road maintenance and upgrading. Speaking at a Jalur Gemilang Merdeka Tour event in Kampung Sekayan, Papar, he noted that several roads in Papar built 10 to 20 years ago now require repairs, and that rising costs and unpredictable weather including floods are worsening the situation.

Sabah gets RM582.29 million of RM1.52 billion IKR and small-project allocation
A total of RM1.52 billion has been allocated for 8,069 small-scale projects and People's Facility Initiatives nationwide since 2023, with Sabah receiving the largest share at RM582.29 million for 2,301 projects. Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir said this year Sabah received RM113.3 million for 481 projects, and after visiting a bridge upgrade in Kampung Kalansanan he said the ministry may prioritise small concrete bridges in water-based settlements next year.
