1. Trader in Kuala Terengganu pleads not guilty to raping stepdaughter

   A 59-year-old trader pleaded not guilty at the Kuala Terengganu Sessions Court to two charges of raping his 14-year-old stepdaughter in 2013. The accused, Noor Sarkawi Saleh, was granted bail of RM20,000, and the case is set for mention on October 12.

2. Five businesses at Chew Jetty destroyed in fire, losses estimated at RM1 million

   Five business premises at Chew Jetty in George Town, Penang were destroyed in a fire early this morning. No injuries were reported, but one trader estimated losses at RM1 million. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

3. Accountant charged with helping company evade over RM2.5 million in taxes

   An accountant, Chew Ai Keow, 63, was charged in the George Town Magistrate's Court with helping a company underreport its income tax to the LHDN by over RM2.5 million. She pleaded not guilty and was granted bail of RM4,000.
