Awie promises best performance at Stadium Merdeka solo concert
Datuk Awie has promised his best performance at his solo concert, Awie Rock King - Last Man Standing 2026, at Stadium Merdeka this Saturday. He said preparations are in place for the show running until 1am, featuring over 35 songs and five segments including Cinta & Filem, Legasi and Tribute Kepada Legenda. Awie also voiced concern over the haze affecting his health, but left any possibility of postponement to fate.

Yasin Sulaiman freed after four years of treatment, says he lost hope
Malaysian composer and singer Yasin Sulaiman said he lost hope and thought it better to be hanged after being sentenced to 30 years in prison. After about four and a half years of treatment including at Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta, he was released on 2 September on conditions to continue medication and avoid cannabis.

Comedian Abon seeks JKM aid after heart condition cuts his income
Malaysian comedian Abon, whose real name is Sharizan Ahmad, has applied for welfare assistance from the Social Welfare Department after losing his income since June due to a heart condition. He had stents fitted in two heart vessels and was told to rest for at least five months, spending thousands on treatment. Awie said the show features five segments with about 35 songs from five different bands he has played with, plus a line-up of top Malaysian musicians and artists. Rehearsals began about a month ago at MyStudio Sungai Buloh to ensure a tight performance.
