Padi farmers in Jitra, Kedah, are still waiting for additional compound fertilizer (baja 3) that should have been used mid-season, forcing them to use old, flood-damaged stock. Some received supplies late as their crops were nearly ready for harvest, while rising costs have led some to consider giving up farming unless the government raises the padi floor price.

Nur Iman Syamimi, 14, who has brain cancer and is now blind, fulfilled her dream of going up the Alor Setar Tower for her birthday. The dream was made possible by her parents and the NGO Cancer Survivors Malaysia (CSM) in Alor Setar. Her mother hopes this is not the last time they can celebrate her daughter's birthday.
