Social worker Saleha Rashidi wins Merit Award at SSP 2026
Saleha Rashidi, manager of Rise Above Transitional House at 1 St George's Lane, Singapore, received a Merit Award at the Social Service Professionals Awards 2026 on 11 September. The centre, Singapore's first secular halfway house for former female offenders, has helped more than 130 women and their families since it began operating in 2023.

Over 70 children join The Alphabet Project carnival in Woodlands
More than 70 children from less privileged families took part in the third edition of The Alphabet Project carnival at Woodlands Community Club on 11 September. The four-hour event featured a storytelling contest plus science, art and sports workshops, with Republic Polytechnic students helping organise it for the first time.
