Sabah health dept runs food safety drive on Mount Kinabalu trail
The Sabah State Health Department held a three-day food safety expedition on Mount Kinabalu from Sept 2 to 4. The program included inspections and education for food handlers, guides, and porters. Two establishments, Sutera Sanctuary Lodge and Mountain Torq, received the Clean and Safe (BeSS) recognition.

Sabah CM calls for more hospitals, specialists to improve healthcare access
Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor said the state government wants improved healthcare facilities and more specialist doctors to serve its population. He spoke at the Borneo Zone Tobats (Reject Illegal Medicines) Roadshow in Tuaran, where he also mentioned a planned heart hospital in Kota Kinabalu.

Health Ministry tightens air cargo controls with customs, border agency to fight drug smuggling
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad announced a strategic collaboration between the Health Ministry, Royal Malaysian Customs Department and the Border Control and Protection Agency to tighten controls on cargo and air entry points to combat illegal medicine smuggling. He spoke at the Kembara TOBaTS Borneo Zone program in Tuaran, Sabah, which was officiated by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor. Nationwide seizures of illegal medicines reached RM132.4 million from 2023 to 2025, with Sabah accounting for nearly RM4.507 million.
