Kuching man jailed 11 months for assaulting wife by roadside
A 37-year-old man in Kuching was sentenced to 11 months in jail after pleading guilty to assaulting his wife, whom he suspected of infidelity. The attack happened by the roadside near Kampung Tabuan Melayu at about 6.30pm on Jan 31, and the victim suffered soft tissue injuries to her neck, chest and wrist.

Eight sentenced to 18 months for Kuching love scam syndicate
Eight people, including five Indonesians and three Malaysians, were sentenced to 18 months in jail in Kuching on Sept 8 for their roles in an online love scam syndicate. They were arrested in a raid on a house near Jalan Song on Sept 1, where police seized laptops and phones. Five of the Indonesians also received additional sentences for immigration offences.

Kuching court fines caregiver RM5,000 for injuring autistic girl
A 51-year-old woman was fined RM5,000 by the Sessions Court in Kuching for abusing a five-year-old autistic girl under her care. The offence occurred at a rehabilitation centre in Kuching in May 2025, and the court also ordered her to serve 100 hours of community service and be of good behaviour for three years.
