Kedah Immigration deports, blacklists 140 undocumented migrants
Kedah's Immigration Department sent home 140 undocumented migrants held at the Belantik Immigration Depot in Sik, flying them out via KLIA yesterday. The group of Myanmar, Bangladeshi, Indian, Pakistani, Indonesian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodian and Kenyan nationals was also blacklisted from re-entering the country.

King grants audience to Zambry and PSC chairman at Istana Negara
Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, today granted an audience to Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir at Istana Negara. His Majesty also granted an audience to Public Service Commission chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Jailani Muhamed Yunus. During the session, the King agreed to be briefed on the Sultan Ibrahim Malay Studies Chair at Beijing Foreign Studies University.

Alice Loke elevated to Court of Appeal, Elaine Yap confirmed as High Court judge
High Court judge Alice Loke Yee Ching is expected to be elevated to the Court of Appeal on Thursday, while Judicial Commissioner Elaine Yap Chin Gaik is expected to be confirmed as a High Court judge. The oath-taking and presentation of instruments of appointment are expected to take place at Istana Negara before Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar. The appointment will raise the number of Court of Appeal judges to 31 out of the constitutionally mandated 32 positions.

Mother of former senator Ras Adiba Radzi dies in Petaling Jaya
Siti Sariah Abu, the 81-year-old mother of former senator and Bernama chairman Ras Adiba Radzi, died at her home in Section 16, Petaling Jaya. She passed away peacefully while sitting at home at around 5.20pm. The funeral is expected to take place at the Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery tomorrow morning.
