High Court in Tapah orders Perak exco Sivanesan to pay RM3,000 costs in defamation suit
The High Court in Tapah ordered Perak executive councillor A. Sivanesan to pay RM3,000 in costs after allowing former Bagan Dalam assemblyman Satees Muniandy's application to transfer the defamation suit to the Butterworth Sessions Court. Sivanesan sued Satees over a TikTok video uploaded in June last year that he says portrayed him as unfit for public office.

Ipoh trader gets 30 years, 24 strokes for trafficking meth
A trader in Ipoh was sentenced to 30 years in prison and 24 strokes of the cane by the High Court for trafficking over 77 kilograms of methamphetamine. The accused, Liew Wan Wah, 46, escaped the death penalty. The drug distribution occurred at the Gopeng Toll Plaza and at the Kampar district police headquarters in June 2021.
