Sabah Malaysia Day 2026 to focus on history and youth
The 2026 Sabah-level Malaysia Day celebration will include a Malaysia Day exhibition at Palm Square, Centre Point from Sept 9 to 11, ahead of the main event on Sept 16 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) in Kota Kinabalu. Assistant Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Dr Andi Md Shamsureezal Mohd Sainal said the celebration aims to help youths appreciate Malaysia's formation and Sabah's role, with 300 students from six higher education institutions invited.

Malaysia Day 2026 celebration at BCCK Kuching on Sept 16
The Malaysia Day 2026 celebration will be held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching in Sarawak on Sept 16, the Communications Ministry said. The programme includes a multi-faith thanksgiving on Sept 14, a Muslim thanksgiving at the State Mosque on Sept 15, and a main event featuring a pulut kuning cutting and the signing of the Malaysia Proclamation Book by the Prime Minister, Sarawak Premier and Sabah Chief Minister.

50,000 join Sabah National Day celebration
About 50,000 people attended the Sabah 2026 National Day celebration at Dataran Bandaraya in Kota Kinabalu, featuring a parade of 173 contingents along Jalan Tun Fuad Stephens. The event included competition categories for schools, NGOs, ethnic associations, and government departments, with Head of State Tun Musa Aman and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor in attendance.
