A rice smuggler is feared to have drowned after jumping into the Sungai Golok river while fleeing a raid by the General Operations Force (PGA) in Tumpat, Kelantan. Authorities seized 1,178 kg of rice and 100 kg of glutinous rice believed to have been smuggled from Thailand.

GOF seizes 4,750 saplings worth RM237,500 in Rantau Panjang smuggling bust
The General Operations Force foiled an attempt to smuggle 4,750 saplings worth RM237,500 at a road checkpoint in Rantau Panjang, Pasir Mas, Kelantan. A 43-year-old local lorry driver was detained, and the lorry, valued at RM100,000, was also seized. The suspect and items were handed over to the Kota Bharu Agriculture Department for further action.

Man detained after returning from visiting wife
A 54-year-old man from Kuala Lumpur was detained at an illegal jetty in Rantau Panjang, Kelantan, after returning from visiting his wife in Golok, Thailand. He was arrested by the General Operations Force for entering Malaysia through an illegal route and is being investigated under the Immigration Act.
