Johor woman loses RM320,000 to scam callers posing as police, insurer
A 51-year-old woman in Johor Bahru lost RM320,900 after falling for a scam. She was first told she had an insurance claim, then was contacted by fake police who accused her of money laundering and instructed her to transfer money. She realized she was scammed after discovering unauthorized transfers from her account.

Man fined S$560,000 for evading duty on nearly 30,000 bottles of beer
A 47-year-old Chinese national, Han Xiaoyang, was fined S$560,000 in Singapore for masterminding a scheme to evade duty and GST on imported beer. He pleaded guilty to seven charges involving the evasion of about S$60,127 in duty on 28,236 bottles of beer. As he did not pay the fine, he will serve 164 days in jail.
