1. Immigration Dept launches internal probe into fatal KL crash that killed three

   The Immigration Department is conducting an internal investigation into its vehicle safety and SOPs following a fatal crash on Jalan Sultan Ismail in Kuala Lumpur on Aug 19. The department's director-general said action will be taken if violations are found. Separately, five of 11 immigrants who escaped from the Tanah Merah depot have been recaptured.

2. One house destroyed, three damaged in fire on Jalan Dato Keramat

   A fire on Jalan Dato Keramat in Kuala Lumpur early this morning destroyed one house and damaged three others. Firefighters from four stations responded, and no injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.
