Shah Alam gang clash murder: 3 of 7 wanted suspects arrested
Three of seven suspects wanted over a gang clash murder in Taman Alam Megah, Section 28, Shah Alam, last month have been arrested. Selangor police chief Shaseli Kahhar said the arrests were made between September 4 and 7 based on public information after photos were released. Police are still hunting the remaining four suspects.

Two drivers held over speed test on Putra Bridge, cars seized
Putrajaya police arrested two male drivers aged 19 and 21 after a viral video showed them testing speeds on Putra Bridge. A Proton and a Honda were seized, one driver had no valid licence and expired road tax, and both were issued traffic summonses.

Police question 12 witnesses over RM2.91 million Ampang condo armed robbery
Police have recorded statements from 12 witnesses in the armed gang robbery at Pavilion Embassy condominium in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, where RM2.91 million in cash, jewellery and luxury watches was stolen on Sept 7. Wangsa Maju police chief ACP Annas Sulaiman said investigators are still identifying suspects and are examining possible insider involvement given the condominium's strict security. The case is being investigated under Sections 395/397 of the Penal Code.

Selangor police seize RM31.53m in drugs, arrest 14
Selangor police broke up six drug syndicates in seven raids across KLIA, Segambut, Kajang and Sepang between 19 and 26 August. The RM31.53 million haul included 135.4 kg of cannabis buds and 117.54 kg of MDMA, with 14 people arrested.

11 police reports filed, foreign vagrant detained for scratching cars at TRX
A 34-year-old foreign man believed to be homeless was detained after cars were scratched at a parking area near The Exchange TRX in Kuala Lumpur. Police received 11 reports, including three from TRX management, with losses estimated at RM3,000. The suspect is remanded for four days and will be sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a mental examination.

Three more charged with murder of 23-year-old at illegal gathering in Taman Alam Megah
Three more alleged gang members were charged in the Magistrate's Court in Shah Alam today with murdering a 23-year-old man during an illegal gathering last month. The charges bring the total number of people charged in the case to 11, after eight men were charged with the same offence last week. The offence was allegedly committed at 1.59pm on Aug 25 at Jalan Mandolin 33/5 in Taman Alam Megah, and the court fixed Nov 24 for mention.

BERSIH demands Najib serve remaining jail term, rejects house arrest
BERSIH is demanding that Datuk Seri Najib Razak serve the rest of his prison sentence and is opposing any move by the Pardons Board to grant the former prime minister house arrest. Its executive director, Asraf Sharafi, said this at a press conference at BERSIH's office in Petaling Jaya, a day before the board meets. He argued that special treatment for high-profile individuals would create a dangerous double standard and undermine the rule of law.

Farmer, 52, shot dead outside child's rented house in Banting
A 52-year-old local farmer was shot dead in front of a rented house in Teluk Bunut, Banting, between 10.30pm and 11pm on Tuesday. Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the victim is believed to have gone to check on the house, which was rented by his child and unoccupied at the time. Police have detained a local man in his 20s to 30s and obtained a two-day remand order; the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Police seize 51.686kg of MDMA worth RM7.75 million at Jalan Ceylon condo
Dang Wangi police seized 51.686kg of MDMA powder worth RM7.75 million in a raid on a condominium unit at Jalan Ceylon, Kuala Lumpur on 19 August. Five people were arrested, including two male and two female foreign nationals and one local man, and all suspects were charged in court on 2 September.

Penang City Council mayor called as witness in Guan Eng corruption trial
Penang City Council mayor Datuk Rajendran P Anthony will be called as a prosecution witness in the corruption trial of former Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng. The trial at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court concerns the Penang undersea tunnel and main roads project. Man fined RM6,000 for farming without permit in Angsi Forest Reserve
A 61-year-old man was fined RM6,000 by the Seremban Sessions Court after pleading guilty to running farming and livestock activities without a permit in the Angsi Permanent Forest Reserve. Lee Kai Sang was accused of planting calamansi, durian and bananas and rearing stingless bees and freshwater fish in a pond at Compartment 55 of the reserve last August. Judge Shahrul Rizal Majid also ordered two months' jail if the fine is not paid.

Lorry driver fined RM30,000 for obscene WhatsApp messages to ex-wife's husband
A 50-year-old lorry driver was fined RM30,000 by the Sessions Court in Seremban after pleading guilty to five charges of sending obscene pictures and videos via WhatsApp to his ex-wife's current husband in March 2023. Mohd Suhaimi Yusof was also given a two-month jail term for each charge if he fails to pay the fine. He was charged under Section 233(1)(a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

Remand on Azeez not extended, ex-Tabung Haji chairman to be freed today
Kuala Lumpur: Former Tabung Haji chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim is expected to be released this evening after police failed to extend his remand. His lawyer said the application for a further three days under Section 420 of the Penal Code was rejected, and Azeez is due out before 5pm. He and two former TH officers had been remanded over a fraud case linked to TH hibah.

Puteri Umno hopes for the best as Najib's clemency bid goes to Pardons Board
At the Umno General Assembly at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, Puteri Umno chief Datuk Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi said the wing wishes Najib Razak well ahead of a Federal Territories Pardons Board meeting expected to discuss his clemency application. Najib, 72, is serving a reduced six-year sentence over the misappropriation of RM42 million from SRC International.
