F1 Bahrain GP preparations at Sepang 80 pct complete, says minister
Preparations for the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang International Circuit are 80 per cent complete, Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari said in Putrajaya. Upgrading works at SIC began on Sept 7 and 500 volunteers have been identified for training. Malaysia will host the race from Oct 2-4, bringing F1 back after nine years.

Umno Youth seeks role in drafting BN election manifesto
Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh has asked party leaders to involve the wing in drafting the Barisan Nasional election manifesto. The Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (AFPPD) officially opened its new global secretariat house in Kuala Lumpur on Friday. The facility, relocated from Tokyo, Japan, will serve as a regional hub for parliamentary action on issues like population ageing and gender equality. The secretariat house was developed at a cost of RM958,930.
