Social worker Saleha Rashidi wins Merit Award at SSP 2026
Saleha Rashidi, manager of Rise Above Transitional House at 1 St George's Lane, Singapore, received a Merit Award at the Social Service Professionals Awards 2026 on 11 September. The centre, Singapore's first secular halfway house for former female offenders, has helped more than 130 women and their families since it began operating in 2023.

139 donate blood at Sunlove's National Day drive at its headquarters
Sunlove's annual National Day blood donation drive was held on August 14 at its headquarters in Singapore. A total of 139 people, including foreigners and staff from various centres, donated blood. Organisers said turnout was higher than in previous years.

Singapore hands Nepal $560,000 aid package for flood relief
Singapore has given Nepal a humanitarian aid package worth about $560,000, including medical supplies and DNA test kits. The handover took place on Sept 4 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tanglin, as Singapore also deploys officers to help with disaster victim identification following devastating floods.
