Lorry driver killed by falling rock at Keramat Pulai quarry
A 53-year-old lorry driver, M. Sivakumar, was killed when a rock crushed his vehicle at a quarry in Keramat Pulai, Kampung Kepayang near Simpang Pulai, Perak. Fire and rescue personnel from Simpang Pulai and Gopeng extricated him using hydraulic equipment, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Remand of five 'middlemen' in vehicle ownership document forgery syndicate extended four days
The remand of five individuals suspected of acting as middlemen in a syndicate forging vehicle ownership transfer documents has been extended by four days until 18 September. They were brought to the Ipoh Magistrate's Court today after an earlier six-day remand. The case also involves 11 individuals including six JPJ officers detained at the Perak MACC office.

Firemen trek 2km up Bukit Perak Cave Temple to bring down Nepali man's body
A Nepali man was found hanging from a tree at the summit of Bukit Perak Cave Temple on Jalan Kuala Kangsar in Ipoh. 310 cable theft and telecom vandalism cases reported in Perak
Perak recorded 310 cable theft and telecommunications network vandalism cases from January to June this year, with Kinta district reporting the most. State communications committee chairman Mohd Azlan Helmi said 125 cases have been charged in court and 67 investigation papers opened, while a state telecommunications security committee has been formed with MCMC, police and the state legal adviser. A community awareness programme will be held on 28 September in Kinta.

Ex-KPTM Ipoh administrator faces six charges over female students
A former administrator of Kolej Poly-Tech Mara (KPTM) in Ipoh was charged in court with six offences involving alleged criminal force against two female students and obscene words against four others. Roykarnaen Maseri, 44, pleaded not guilty to all charges, which were allegedly committed at the college and other locations in Ipoh between June and August. The court set bail at RM8,000.

Ipoh trader gets 30 years, 24 strokes for trafficking meth
A trader in Ipoh was sentenced to 30 years in prison and 24 strokes of the cane by the High Court for trafficking over 77 kilograms of methamphetamine. Man's body found in locked car in Bandar Sri Botani, Ipoh
A man believed to be around 30 years old was found dead inside a locked car in Bandar Sri Botani, Ipoh, early Tuesday morning. Fire and rescue personnel had to remove the body from the vehicle, after which he was pronounced dead by Health Ministry staff. The body has been handed over to police for further action.

Three factory workers in Ipoh arrested for stealing RM355,000 in production materials
Police arrested three workers of a factory in the Pulai Jaya Industrial Area, Ipoh, for allegedly stealing 64 rolls of production materials worth RM355,000. Ipoh district police chief said the suspects, aged 28 to 35, will be brought to court for a remand application. The case is being investigated under Section 381 of the Penal Code.
