1. Sarawak launches Sarawak-Brunei-Sabah cross-border guidebook

   Sarawak's Ministry of Transport and the Malaysia Productivity Corporation launched a cross-border operational guidebook to ease the movement of goods and passengers between Sarawak, Brunei and Sabah. The launch was held alongside a two-day workshop in Kuching reviewing two BIMP-EAGA land transport MoUs. Sarawak Transport Minister Lee Kim Shin said the guidebook is a practical reference for operators on documents, permits and cross-border requirements.

Perak exco Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin said PLUS and the Malaysian Highway Authority are monitoring the site and drafting long-term measures including slope reinforcement, steel netting, satellite monitoring and CCTV. Heavy rain of 65mm, above the usual 40mm, was blamed for the erosion.

3. Perak proposes 24-hour CCTV to monitor Menora Tunnel slopes

Perak police chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said repair work on the slope will continue. A landslide occurred at 4.30pm yesterday during heavy rain, forcing the lane to be closed temporarily.

   The left lane at KM 263.6 of the North-South Expressway southbound has been closed after a landslide near the Menora Tunnel heading towards Ipoh. Perak police chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said the closure is a precaution, with safety cones placed from KM 262.8 to KM 263.8 and CCTV and PLUS monitoring ongoing.

7. Landslide at KM263.6: All southbound PLUS lanes reopened

   All southbound lanes of the North-South Expressway at KM 263.6 reopened this evening after a landslide blocked the left lane. Traffic was backed up for eight kilometres from the Menora Tunnel towards Ipoh Utara, with delays of about 40 minutes. The highway authority advised drivers to be careful in the rain, and the cause of the landslide has not been confirmed.
